How to Register & Use the EPFO e-Sewa Facility?
Follow these steps to register and use the EPFO e-Sewa facility-
- Click here to visit the EPFO e-Sewa online portal
- Next, you need to register your establishment on the EPFO website
- The EPFO portal will now generate a temporary username and password on your registered mobile number
- Later on, you will have to create a permanent username and password for your account, using which you’ll be able to log in to your EPFO e-Sewa online account and avail the facilities
Steps to Upload KYC in EPF UAN
Follow these steps to upload your KYC in EPF UAN-
- Log in to the online EPFO member portal
- Enter your UAN and password along with the Captcha code shown on the login page

- From the top menu bar, click on the ‘Menu’ option and then select ‘KYC’ from the drop down menu

- Now, you will be redirected to a new page, wherein you will be able to see a list of various documents that are seeded into your EPF account

- Tick mark the checkbox next to the document type which you wish to update

- Now, enter the required details of the document in its respective field
- After updating your details, click on ‘Save’
- Upon successful completion of this, your KYC status will be shown at the bottom of the screen, next to the ‘KYC pending for approval’ option
- After the approval from your employer, the status of your KYC update will be shown under the ‘Digitally Approved KYC’ option
- When your employer approved your documents, the status of your KYC will be notified to you
Embed KYC Details in EPF UAN
Once your employer verifies and approves your KYC documents, he/she will attest your documents digitally. Later on, the EPFO will verify your documents to confirm that there are no discrepancies or mismatches, etc.
However, if your details don’t match, your documents would not be approved by EPFO. In such a case, you will have to contact the EPFO officials either on their helpline number – 1800 118 005 or on their email – [email protected].
Upon raising a claim, the verification of your documents will be done immediately and your KYC details will be embedded in the EPF UAN system.
Points to Consider
Make sure to consider the following points while filling/updating your KYC on the EPF online portal-
- Ensure that all the details that you have entered from your KYC documents such as PAN Card, Aadhaar Card, Passport, Driver’s License, etc. are absolutely correct and there are no mismatches or discrepancies
- The employer’s approval process takes around 2-3 days after you upload all your documents. If you don’t receive your KYC approval from your employer in this time, you may contact him/her for the same
Don’t Know your UAN? Here’s How you can Find It!
To find out your UAN, you need to follow the steps as listed below-
- Visit the EPFO online member portal
- Click on ‘Know your UAN’ option on the main screen
- Enter your registered mobile number, captcha code and click on ‘Request OTP’
- Now, enter the OTP for verification purpose
- Lastly, you need to enter your name, date of birth, Aadhaar/PAN/Member ID and Captcha code
- After successfully submitting your details, click on ‘Show my UAN’ to find out your Universal Account number

- Members can easily transfer their PF balance from one account to another using the same UAN
