  • The EPFO portal will generate a temporary username and password, which will be sent to your registered mobile number.
  • After receiving the temporary credentials, you will be required to create a permanent username and password for your EPFO e-Sewa account.
  • Once you have set up your permanent login details, use them to log in to your EPFO e-Sewa online account.
  • From there, you will be able to access and avail the various facilities provided by EPFO.

Steps to Upload KYC in EPF UAN

To upload your KYC in EPF UAN, follow these steps:

  • Log in to the online EPFO member portal.
  • Enter your UAN and password, along with the Captcha code displayed on the login page.
  • From the top menu bar, click on the ‘Menu’ option and select ‘KYC’ from the drop-down menu.
  • You will be redirected to a new page where you can view a list of various documents linked to your EPF account.
  • Tick the checkbox next to the document type you wish to update.
  • Enter the required details of the document in the respective fields.
  • After updating the details, click on ‘Save’.
  • Once saved successfully, the status of your KYC will be displayed at the bottom of the screen, next to the ‘KYC pending for approval’ option.
  • Your employer needs to approve the KYC documents.
  • Once your employer approves the documents, the status of your KYC update will be shown under the ‘Digitally Approved KYC’ option.
  • You will be notified of the status of your KYC update after it is approved by your employer.

KYC Details in EPF UAN

Once your employer verifies and approves your KYC documents, he/she will attest your documents digitally. Later on, the EPFO will verify your documents to confirm that there are no discrepancies or mismatches, etc. 

However, if your details don’t match, your documents would not be approved by EPFO. In such a case, you will have to contact the EPFO officials either on their helpline number – 1800 118 005 or on their email – [email protected]

Upon raising a claim, the verification of your documents will be done immediately and your KYC details will be embedded in the EPF UAN system.

Make sure to consider the following points while filling/updating your KYC on the EPF online portal-

  • You will receive an OTP (One-Time Password) for verification.
  • Enter the OTP in the provided field for verification.
  • Next, enter your name, date of birth, Aadhaar/PAN/Member ID, and captcha code.
  • After entering your details, click on ‘Show my UAN’ to retrieve your Universal Account Number.
