Direct benefit transfer (DBT) is a government program in India that aims to deliver social welfare benefits and subsidies directly to the bank accounts of eligible beneficiaries. The program uses the Aadhaar card, which is a 12-digit unique identity number issued by the government to all residents of India, as a means of verifying the identity of beneficiaries and ensuring that the benefits are delivered to the correct person.
Aadhaar can be linked to a bank account online, via SMS, mobile application, phone banking, or by visiting the nearest bank branch. Once Aadhaar is linked to a bank account, its status can be checked by visiting the UIDAI website.
In this blog, we will explain how to check Aadhaar linking status with bank using a few simple steps.
