An e-Aadhaar password is a layer of protection made for the digital e-Aadhaar. It needs to be entered by the user before downloading the e-Aadhaar PDF file. e-Aadhaar password is a combination of the first four letters of the user’s name and year of birth.

For example- Suppose, the user’s name is Mukund and his date of birth is 20th November 1994. The password of this user will be MUKU1994.

What is the Need for an e-Aadhaar Password?

e-Aadhaar is required if-

  • A person misplaced the original Aadhaar card
  • If the Aadhaar card is mistakenly destroyed
  • It can be used instead of a physical copy of an Aadhaar card

An e-Aadhaar card downloaded from the UIDAI website is generated in the form of a PDF file. To get a printout of it, the e-Aadhaar password is required to be entered to open the PDF file. This password is a combination of the first four letters of the user’s name and the birth year. It works as an additional layer of security that makes an e-Aadhaar card secure and digitally safe.

  • Upon opening, enter the e-Aadhaar password
