Important Update: Paytm Wallet Status

As of March 15, 2024, the Paytm Payments Bank Wallet service is no longer available for new deposits. This means you cannot add money to the Paytm Wallet anymore.

How Payments Work Now on Paytm

Instead of loading money into a wallet, Paytm now works directly with your linked bank account through UPI (Unified Payments Interface). Here's how it works:

Direct Bank Payments via UPI

  1. Link Your Bank Account: Connect your existing bank account to Paytm via UPI.
  2. Set UPI PIN: Create a UPI PIN for your linked account.
  3. Pay Directly: When you make a payment, the money is debited directly from your bank account.

Benefits of UPI Payments

  • No Pre-loading Required: Pay directly from your bank balance.
  • Real-time: Transactions are instant.
  • Secure: Protected by your UPI PIN.
  • Higher Limits: UPI allows up to ₹1 lakh per transaction (depending on your bank).

Adding Money to UPI Lite (For Small Transactions)

If you want a wallet-like experience for small transactions, you can use UPI Lite:

  1. Enable UPI Lite from the Paytm home screen.
  2. Add money (maximum ₹2,000) from your linked bank account.
  3. Make PIN-less payments up to ₹500 per transaction.
