Understanding how Paytm cashback works and what you can do with it has changed with the recent updates to Paytm services. Here's what you need to know.
Where Does Cashback Go Now?
With the Paytm Wallet no longer available, cashback earned on transactions is handled differently:
1. Direct Bank Credit
- Most cashback offers now credit the reward directly to your linked bank account.
- This happens automatically—no transfer needed!
- Check your bank statement or Paytm transaction history for credited cashback.
2. Cashback Points
- Some rewards are credited as 'Cashback Points' instead of direct money.
- These points are stored in your Paytm account and can be redeemed.
How to Use Cashback Points
Cashback Points can be redeemed for:
- Gift Vouchers: Convert points to brand vouchers (Amazon, Flipkart, etc.).
- Discount Coupons: Use points for discounts on Paytm services.
- Partner Offers: Redeem at partner merchants.
Steps to Redeem:
- Go to 'Cashback & Offers' in the Paytm App.
- Tap on 'Cashback Points'.
- Browse available redemption options.
- Select and redeem your points.
Can You Transfer Cashback to Someone Else?
- Direct Bank Cashback: Once credited to your bank, you can transfer it to anyone via UPI like any other money.
- Cashback Points: These cannot be transferred to another person's account. They must be used by the account holder.
Key Points to Remember
- Check offer terms to know if cashback will be direct or as points.
- Cashback points have validity—use them before they expire.
- Direct bank cashback is the most flexible as it becomes part of your regular bank balance.
