How to Activate Your Inactive FASTag?

When a FASTag is inactive, it could be due to various reasons, such as insufficient funds in your FASTag account, technical errors, or expiration of the FASTag. In such cases, it’s recommended to use the website or app of the FASTag issuing bank to reactivate the FASTag. After reactivation, wait for at least 24 hours before using it again. If the issue persists, it’s best to reach out to your FASTag issuer for assistance in resolving the problem.

When buying a new FASTag, you will need to go through the registration and documentation process once again, which includes providing the necessary KYC (Know Your Customer) documents such as ID proof, address proof, and vehicle registration details. Once you have purchased a new FASTag and completed the registration process, you can affix it on your vehicle’s windshield as per the issuer’s instructions and link it to your FASTag prepaid account for automatic toll payments.

Common Guidelines to Follow to Activate & Affix FASTag

  • Always choose a reputable issuer or bank to buy your FASTag
  • Before affixing the FASTag, make sure the windshield area is clean and dry.
  • Affix the FASTag firmly on the top center of the windshield.
  • Always add sufficient balance to your FASTag account to avoid any possible delays or issues during highway drives
  • While FASTag is widely accepted, there may be instances where the system is down or the tag is not working. It’s always a good idea to carry backup payment methods like cash or other electronic payment options.
  • Keep your FASTag and windshield clean for better readability. Regularly clean the tag using a soft cloth and avoid using abrasive materials or chemicals.
