BESCOM stands for Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited. It is responsible for distributing electricity in eight districts of Karnataka, including Bangalore Urban, Bangalore Rural, Chikkaballapura, Kolar, Davanagere, Tumkur, Chitradurga, and Ramanagara. It serves an area of 41,092 square kilometers and has a population of over 20.7 million people.

In 1999, Karnataka began significant reforms in the power sector. The first step was dissolving the Karnataka Electricity Board (KEB) and creating the Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL). The Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC) was established in November 1999. In June 2002, the transmission and distribution business of KPTCL was split into four new distribution companies. As part of this reform, BESCOM started operating on June 1, 2002, taking over electricity distribution in the eight districts.

Step 1: Visit the BESCOM website and go to the official BESCOM bill payment page or directly to the Quick Payment section.

Step 2: Choose between logging in as a registered user or using the quick payment option without registration.

Step 3: Enter Details for Login 

• If registered, log in with your User ID and Password.
• For quick payment, enter your Account Number or Customer ID and the amount you want to pay.

Step 4: Select your payment option, such as credit card, debit card, or UPI.

Step 5: Follow the steps to finalize the payment. You’ll receive a confirmation message or email once it’s processed. You should save or print the receipt for your records after completing the payment.

Step 1: Login the Paytm app and click on the ‘Bill Payments’ section. 

Step 2: Select ‘Electricity Bill and set your state as ‘Karnataka.’

Step 2: Choose your state as ‘Karnataka’ under ‘Electricity Boards,’ and apply any promo codes if available.

Step 3: Choose ‘Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Ltd.’ (BESCOM) as your electricity board.

Step 1: Download the BESCOM Mithra app on your Android or iOS device. 

Step 2: Open the app and log in using your mobile number. 

Step 3: Verify your account information. Check the details to ensure accuracy before proceeding.

Step 4: Tap on “Pay Now” to start the bill payment process. Follow the steps as highlighted in the app. 

Step 5: Select your preferred payment option, such as a credit card, debit card, UPI, or phone wallet, to complete the transaction.

Step 1: Go to the official BESCOM portal at https://bescom.co.in/bescom/main/home. 

Step 2: On the homepage, click on “Last Online Payment Status”. This will take you to the section where you can check your payment details.

Step 3: Enter your BESCOM ‘account ID’ accurately to retrieve the latest payment status.

Step 4: To confirm your identity, carefully type in the captcha code shown on the screen.

Step 5: After entering your details and captcha, hit “Continue” to proceed.

You will then be directed to a page displaying your last payment details, including the date and amount of your most recent transaction.
