The new traffic fines implemented in Bangalore are as per the Karnataka Government’s Decision to revise and reduce the fine. How to Check Bangalore Traffic Fines?

Following is the step-by-step process to check traffic fine/e-challan issued for the vehicle online, in Bangalore-

  • Step 1 – Open the official website of Bangalore City Traffic Police
  • Step 2 – Choose the option of ‘e-challan payments’
  • Step 3 – From the list of ‘Traffic Violations Payments’, choose the violation type for which the challan has been issued. You can confirm it from the details given in the SMS sent to you
  • Step 4 – Enter your vehicle’s registration number and chassis/engine number of the vehicle, or the challan number issued
  • Step 5 – On entering the required details, you will be able to view the fine issued for the concerning violation.

Once you know the amount of fine issued for your vehicle, you can proceed to make the payment.

How to Pay Traffic Fines Online in Bangalore?

The following are the step-by-step process to pay traffic fine/e-challan issued for the vehicle online, in Bangalore.

  • Step 1 – Enter your name and email id. Make sure that the vehicle is registered with the same person whose name is entered for a successful payment
  • Step 2 – Confirm the amount of fine issued before making the payment
  • Step 3 – Choose a suitable mode to make the payment of your e-challan
  • Step 4 – Validate your entries by entering the captcha provided
  • Step 5 – Complete your payment of e-challan

 How to Make e-Challan Payments on Paytm?

On Paytm Mobile App

  • Open the Paytm Mobile Application on your phone.
  • Navigate to “Bill Payments” and click on “View All”.
  • Locate the transit option and click on “Challan”. Alternatively, you can use the search bar to find the challan.
  • Select “Bangalore Traffic Police” as the “Traffic Authority”.
  • Enter the required details such as Challan ID/Number, vehicle number, etc.
  • Click on “Proceed” to check the fine amount.
  • Choose your preferred mode of payment from credit card, debit card, Paytm UPI, or net banking.
  • Once the payment is completed, you will receive a notification regarding the same.

On Paytm Website

  • Sign in to the Paytm website 
  • Navigate to ‘Recharge & Pay Bills’ and click on ‘Challan’
  •  Select ‘Bangalore Traffic Police’ as the ‘Traffic Authority’
  •  Enter the required details such as Challan ID/Number, vehicle number, etc.
  • Click on ‘Proceed’ to check the fine amount
  • Choose your preferred mode of payment from credit card, debit card, Paytm UPI, or net banking.
  •  Once you complete the payment you will receive a notification regarding the same

Note- Currently, individuals can pay challan for Andhra Pradesh, Avadi, Chennai, Tambaram, Telangana and Haryana traffic authorities only at Paytm.

What Is an e-Challan?

An e-challan is an electronically generated document that is issued with the help of the Electronic Challan System. It is an initiative taken by the government of India to improve its service and ensure transparency. The traffic cops are now given swiping machines that enable them to generate a printed challan on the spot when they catch hold of a traffic violator. The e-challan generated also makes a real-time entry in the traffic police server. The traffic violators can now pay e-challan offline or online depending on the service provided by their state or city.
