How much money can be transferred by UPI?

The standard UPI transaction limit is Rs 1 lakh per day for most peer to peer transfers. However, the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has set higher limits for specific categories:

• Rs 5 lakh per transaction for tax payments, hospital and educational services, and IPO subscriptions.
• Rs 2 lakh for certain transactions like insurance and credit card bill payments.

Individual banks may also set their own lower daily or per-transaction limits. New users may have a restricted limit of Rs 5,000 for the first 24 hours.
