How to cheque fill

To fill a cheque correctly in India, follow these essential steps:

• Date: Enter the current date in DD/MM/YYYY format in the top-right corner. A cheque is valid for three months from this date.
• Payee: Write the full name of the person or organization you are paying on the Pay line. For self-withdrawal, write Self.
• Amount in Words: Write the amount in words starting from the extreme left, ending with the word Only.
• Amount in Numbers: Write the numeric value in the box provided, using the /- symbol after the digits.
• Signature: Sign clearly at the bottom-right corner as per your bank records.

For security, draw two parallel lines on the top-left corner and write A/C Payee to ensure the amount is only deposited into the recipient's bank account.
