We are thrilled to announce that Paytm has been honored with two prestigious awards at the ESG & CleanTech Summit & Awards 2024 — ESG Impact Leader of the Year and Best ESG Initiative to Reduce Carbon Footprint in Mumbai. These awards underscore our unwavering commitment to sustainability and responsible business practices.
Organised by Transformance Industry Impact, the ESG & CleanTech Summit & Awards 2024 recognises companies that leverage technology to foster environmentally and socially responsible retail operations. This includes digital innovations and sustainability reporting, areas where we have been making significant strides.
We have actively championed initiatives aimed at reducing air and water pollution, representing India on international sustainability platforms. Since December 2017, our Founder & CEO Vijay Shekhar Sharma has been the United Nations Environment Programme’s (UNEP) Patron for Clean Air. His work in promoting environmental action and raising awareness aligns with UNEP’s global #BreatheLife campaign, which seeks to drive policy and public action to improve air quality and ensure a healthier future for all.
Additionally, Vijay serves on the Advisory Board of the Green Digital Finance Alliance, an organization focused on harnessing the potential of digital finance and fintech to align financial systems with sustainable development goals. Through our efforts to reduce paper usage by promoting digital transactions and e-receipts, we have made significant progress in reducing air pollution.
Our CSR arm, Paytm Foundation, in collaboration with UNEP, had launched a national action-oriented forum in India to address air quality issues. The forum included regulators, philanthropic organisations, development agencies, and the corporate sector, and created solutions for improving air quality. With a structured yearly action plan, this initiative was designed to tackle the problem head-on and implement effective solutions.

These awards highlight that we are not just a leading digital payments platform but also a responsible corporate citizen working to create long-term value for all our stakeholders—customers, employees, and society.
