Common Reasons You Can’t Change Your UPI PIN
Incorrect Debit Card Details
UPI PIN creation and change require correct debit card information.
If the card number or expiry date is wrong, the system blocks the process.
Unsupported or Expired Debit Card
UPI works only with active, valid debit cards.
If your debit card has expired or is not UPI-enabled, you won’t be able to set or change the PIN.
Bank Server Downtime
Sometimes bank servers may be unavailable due to maintenance or temporary issues.
During this time, changing your UPI PIN will fail automatically.
SIM Not Inserted in the Registered Mobile
Your UPI app verifies your number using the SIM linked to your bank account.
If that SIM is not in the phone, or you are using a different number, UPI PIN changes won’t work.
SMS Permission Not Allowed
UPI needs to send an SMS to verify your mobile number.
If SMS permissions are disabled or your phone lacks balance to send SMS, the PIN change will fail.

Maintain SMS Balance
At least one outgoing SMS is needed for verification.
Wait for 24 Hours if Blocked
If you attempted multiple incorrect tries, wait for the cooling period to reset.
Try Again After Server Issues
