There are various supporting documents required while filing your PAN card application. The PAN card is only issued after these supporting documents have been verified (within 15-20 working days).
It is important to note that failing to provide the required documents or submitting lost/expired/insufficient documents can result in a failed PAN card application.

Documents Required to Apply for a PAN Card

Documents Required for PAN Card by Indian Citizens
Indian citizens must submit the following documents when applying for a PAN card:

Note:
- You must submit an original bank statement with the name of the bank’s branch, the stamp of the issuing officer, the applicant’s photograph, and his/her bank account number
- Submit an original copy of the identity certificate in the prescribed format, duly signed by a Member of Legislative Assembly, Member of Parliament, Gazetted Officer, or Municipal Councillor
- Bank/credit card statements and utility bills should be no more than three months old
Documents Required by HUFs and Non-Resident Indians
HUFs and non-residents of India can apply for a PAN card by submitting the following documents to the Indian PAN card authorities-
