The maximum amount you can transfer through UPI is determined by NPCI guidelines and your bank's policies. While Paytm enables you to make UPI payments, the applicable transaction limit is set by your bank and may vary depending on the type of payment.

Maximum Amount Through UPI (General Limit)

For most person-to-person (P2P) and merchant (P2M) transactions:

  • You can transfer up to ₹1,00,000 per transaction using UPI on Paytm, subject to your bank's limits.
  • Most banks also allow up to 20 UPI transactions per day, though this may vary by bank.
  • Your daily transaction value and count may differ depending on your bank's risk policies and account type.

Higher UPI Transaction Limits

Higher limits may apply for specific categories:

  • Capital markets, insurance, and credit card payments: Up to ₹2,00,000 per transaction.
  • Hospitals, educational institutions, IPO applications, and tax payments: Up to ₹5,00,000 per transaction.
  • Select verified merchants: Up to ₹10,00,000 per day.

Special UPI Limits

  • UPI Lite: Payments up to ₹1,000 per transaction without entering a UPI PIN, with a daily usage limit of ₹10,000.
  • New UPI Users: Some banks may temporarily restrict transactions to ₹5,000 during the first 24 hours as a security measure.

Maximum Amount Transfer Through Paytm UPI

Paytm does not set a separate UPI transaction limit. The maximum amount you can send depends on:

  • Your bank's UPI transaction limits.
  • NPCI guidelines.
  • The type of transaction you're making.

Whether you use Paytm or any other UPI app, the applicable UPI limit remains the same because the limit is determined by your bank, not the UPI platform.

Note: Some banks may apply lower limits for certain accounts or transaction types. You can check your bank's UPI limits before making a high-value payment.
