Paytm allows eligible users to link their RuPay Credit Card with UPI and make payments at supported merchants. However, sometimes a RuPay Credit Card UPI transaction may fail due to reasons like bank restrictions, incorrect details, network issues, or transaction limits.
A RuPay Credit Card UPI allows users to make UPI payments by linking their eligible RuPay Credit Card with apps like Paytm. Instead of using your bank account balance, the payment amount is charged to your credit card limit.
1. Your RuPay Credit Card Is Not Enabled for UPI
Not every RuPay Credit Card supports UPI payments. Your card must be issued by a bank that has enabled RuPay Credit Card-based UPI transactions as per NPCI guidelines.
2. Incorrect Credit Card Details
While linking your card on Paytm, make sure you enter the correct details. Incorrect card information or failed verification can prevent your RuPay Credit Card UPI activation.
3. UPI Transaction Limit Has Been Reached
Every card issuer may set limits for credit card-based UPI transactions. If your payment exceeds the allowed limit, the transaction may fail. Check your RuPay Credit Card UPI limit with your bank.
4. Bank or Server Issues
Sometimes payments may fail due to temporary issues with your bank's server, NPCI systems, or the merchant's UPI setup. Try again after some time if the issue persists.
5. Merchant Does Not Support Credit Card UPI Payments
RuPay Credit Card UPI payments are available only at eligible merchants. If the merchant does not support credit card-based UPI payments, the transaction may not go through.
RuPay Credit Card UPI charges depend on the applicable rules and terms set by banks and payment networks. Users should check their card issuer's fee structure before using credit card-based UPI payments.
