Receiving repeated UPI payment requests from unknown users can be annoying and, in some cases, may be part of a scam. While you cannot block a UPI ID at the network level, you can decline payment requests, report suspicious users, and take steps to protect your account.
How to Manage Unwanted UPI Payment Requests
- Open the Paytm app.
- Go to the Payment Requests or the relevant transaction/request.
- Review the request carefully before taking any action.
- Tap Decline if you don't wish to approve the payment request.
- If the request appears suspicious or fraudulent, use the Report option (if available) or contact Paytm Help & Support to report the user.
How to Stay Safe from Unwanted UPI Requests
- Never approve payment requests unless you recognize the sender.
- Always verify the sender's name and UPI ID before authorising a payment.
- Never share your UPI PIN with anyone.
- Report suspicious payment requests immediately through the Paytm app.
- Enable Paytm Security Shield and other security features for added account protection.
Important Things to Know
- You cannot block a UPI ID across the UPI network.
- Declining a payment request does not block the sender from sending another request in the future.
- If you suspect fraud or receive repeated suspicious requests, report them through the Paytm app or contact your bank.
- If you've accidentally authorised a fraudulent payment, report it immediately by calling the 1930 Cyber Fraud Helpline, informing your bank, and raising a complaint through Paytm Help & Support.
