Your UPI ID is a unique payment address that allows you to send and receive money instantly using Paytm. It is automatically created when you activate UPI on your account and link a bank account.

What is UPI ID?

A UPI ID is a unique virtual payment address linked to your bank account that allows you to send and receive money without sharing your account number or IFSC code.

It is automatically generated when you activate UPI and link your bank account on Paytm. You can share your UPI ID with others to receive payments directly into your linked bank account.

How to Create UPI ID on Paytm

When you link a bank account to Paytm and activate UPI, your UPI ID is automatically generated.

  1. Open the Paytm App on your smartphone.
  2. Tap on your profile icon and go to 'UPI & Payment Settings'.
  3. Select 'Link Bank Account' or 'Add Bank Account'.
  4. Choose your bank from the list.
  5. Verify your mobile number via SMS (linked with your bank account).
  6. Set your UPI PIN using your debit card details.

Your UPI ID will be created automatically after successful setup.

Managing Multiple UPI IDs on Paytm

If you have multiple bank accounts linked to Paytm, you may have multiple UPI IDs. You can view these IDs, choose one as your primary UPI ID, or manage linked bank accounts from the UPI settings.

  2. Tap the three dots (⋮) next to the UPI ID you want to select.
  3. Choose 'Set as Primary'.
  4. Confirm your selection.

  2. Tap on 'Change Primary UPI ID'.
  3. Select your preferred UPI ID from the available options (such as @ptaxis, @pthdfc, @ptsbi).
  4. Tap 'Proceed' to confirm.

Removing a linked bank account will also deactivate the associated UPI ID.

  1. Open 'UPI & Payment Settings'.
  2. Select the bank account you want to remove.
  3. Tap 'Remove' or 'Delink'.
