Want to change your UPI ID on Paytm? While you cannot edit an existing UPI ID, you can create a new one or change your primary UPI ID. Here's how.

Understanding UPI ID Changes

• Cannot Edit: You cannot modify an existing UPI ID's format.
• Can Change Primary: You can switch which UPI ID is your default.
• Can Create New: You can create additional UPI IDs with different bank accounts.

Steps to Change Your Primary UPI ID

1. Open the Paytm App.
2. Tap on your profile icon at the top-left corner.
3. Go to 'UPI & Payment Settings'.
4. Tap on 'UPI ID' section.
5. You'll see your current UPI ID(s) listed.
6. Tap the three dots (⋮) next to your UPI ID.
7. Select 'Change Primary UPI ID'.
8. Choose from available UPI ID formats (e.g., @ptaxis, @pthdfc, @ptsbi).
9. Tap 'Proceed' to confirm your selection.

Creating a New UPI ID

To get a new UPI ID with a different format:

1. Go to 'UPI & Payment Settings' > 'Link Bank Account'.
2. Add a new bank account.
3. A new UPI ID will be automatically created for that account.
4. Set it as your primary if needed.

Important Notes

• Old ID Still Works: Your previous UPI ID continues to work and can receive payments.
• Share Updated ID: Remember to share your new primary UPI ID with contacts who send you money.
• Bank Specific: UPI ID formats depend on your linked bank (e.g., @pthdfc for HDFC, @ptsbi for SBI).
