If you've deleted or uninstalled the Paytm App from your phone, here's what you need to know about your account, UPI, and data.

What Happens When You Delete the Paytm App?

1. Your Paytm Account is Safe

  • Account Not Deleted: Uninstalling the app does NOT delete your Paytm account.
  • Data Preserved: Your profile, transaction history, and settings remain intact on Paytm servers.
  • Easy Recovery: Simply reinstall the app and log in with your registered mobile number.

2. UPI ID Remains Active

  • UPI ID is Not Deactivated: Your UPI ID continues to exist and can receive money.
  • Bank Link Intact: Your linked bank accounts remain connected to your UPI ID.
  • Can Receive Payments: Others can still send money to your UPI ID even if you've deleted the app.

3. Pending Transactions

  • Will Be Processed: Any pending transactions will continue to be processed normally.
  • Refunds Credited: Refunds will still be credited to your linked bank account.

How to Recover Your Account

  1. Download Paytm: Install the Paytm App again from Play Store or App Store.
  2. Enter Mobile Number: Use your registered mobile number to log in.
  3. Verify OTP: Enter the OTP sent to your number.
  4. Account Restored: All your data, UPI IDs, and linked accounts will be restored.

Important Notes

  • No Data Loss: Deleting the app doesn't erase your payment history or account information.
  • Security Tip: If you lost your phone, consider changing your UPI PIN after reinstalling.
  • Deactivation: To permanently close your UPI or account, you need to do it through the app settings, not by uninstalling.
