What Does 'Pending' or 'Not Confirmed' Mean?

A 'Pending' or 'Payment Not Confirmed' status on Paytm means the payment process has started (your bank account may have been debited), but the final confirmation of successful payment has not yet been received by Paytm from the bank or the service provider.

The Immediate Action: DO NOT Re-attempt

The most important rule is: Do not attempt the same transaction again immediately.

If your account has been debited, re-attempting may lead to a successful second payment, forcing you to pay twice once the pending status resolves.

Key Scenarios & Resolution

1. Payment Debited but Pending (Bank/Network Delay)

  • Action: Wait for 1 hour. Status usually updates to SUCCESS or FAILED automatically.

2. Payment Fails After Pending

  • Action: Automatic Refund. The money returns to your source account, typically within 3-7 working days.

3. Order/Service Pending (External Provider Delay)

  • Action: Wait up to 48 hours. The service provider will confirm the order or issue a full refund.

How to Check the Final Status?

  • Open the Paytm App.
  • Go to the 'Balance & History' section.
  • Check the final status against the transaction ID.
  • For delays over an hour, contact Paytm Customer Care via the app's 'Help & Support' for escalation.
