What is meant by UPI registration?

UPI registration is the process of setting up a bank account for instant mobile payments through the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) system. It involves the following steps:

• Linking your bank-registered mobile number with a UPI-enabled application.
• Selecting your bank to link the relevant account.
• Creating a unique Virtual Payment Address (VPA) or UPI ID, which acts as your digital identity for transactions.
• Setting up a secure 4 or 6-digit UPI PIN using your debit card or Aadhaar details to authorize payments.

Once completed, you can send or receive money instantly without sharing sensitive bank account details.
