What is UPI RRN?

UPI RRN stands for Retrieval Reference Number. It is a unique 12-digit number generated for every UPI transaction. This number acts as a digital footprint, allowing banks and payment service providers to track the status of a payment precisely. The RRN is essential for:

• Tracking transaction status (Success, Pending, or Failed)
• Resolving disputes or complaints with your bank
• Verifying refunds if money is deducted but not received by the merchant

On the Paytm app, the RRN is typically labeled as the UPI Ref No in your Balance and History section.
