How to write a cheque to yourself

To write a cheque to yourself, also known as a self-cheque, follow these steps:

• Write the word SELF in the space provided for the payee's name.
• Enter the amount in words in the Rupees line and in numbers in the box provided.
• Write the current date in the top-right corner.
• Sign the cheque at the bottom-right corner as per your bank records.
• You may be required to sign on the back of the cheque for verification at the bank counter.
