How to see cheque number

A cheque number is a six-digit number located at the bottom-left of a cheque leaf, right before the MICR code. It is primarily used for tracking transactions and for processes like stop-payment requests or filling out deposit slips. To find it:
  • Look at the very bottom row of the cheque.
  • The first set of six digits enclosed in double quotes (e.g., "000001") is the cheque number.
  • The digits following it represent the MICR code and other bank-specific account identifiers.
