How to check cheque number

A cheque number is a unique six-digit identifier assigned to every cheque leaf. You can find it in the following ways:
  • On the Cheque: It is located at the bottom-left corner of the cheque. It is the first set of six digits, appearing before the nine-digit MICR code.
  • Bank Statements: When a cheque is processed, the number is recorded in your bank passbook or online transaction history.
  • Cheque Book Stub: You can also refer to the counterfoil or stub in your cheque book for a record of the issued cheque number.
