How to find cheque no

A cheque number is a unique six-digit identifier found on every cheque leaf. In the Indian banking system, you can easily locate it using these methods:
  • Bottom of the leaf: It is the first six-digit number printed at the bottom-left corner in magnetic ink, appearing before the nine-digit MICR code.
  • Top-right corner: Some banks print the cheque number in the upper right section for easy tracking.
  • Cheque book counterfoil: You can also find the number on the record slip or stub inside your cheque book for your personal reference.
