How to find bsr code

You can find the 7-digit BSR (Basic Statistical Return) code for a bank branch through the following methods:
  • Check your tax payment receipt or the counterfoil of a physical challan; the first 7 digits of the 20-digit Challan Identification Number (CIN) is the BSR code.
  • Look at your TDS certificates (Form 16 or Form 16A), where the collecting branch's BSR code is mentioned.
  • Refer to bank-issued documents like your passbook, cheque book, or account statements.
  • Visit the official website of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) or use the search facility on the TIN-NSDL portal.
