You can find the cheque number at the bottom of a cheque leaf. It is the first set of six digits printed in magnetic ink at the bottom-left corner. This unique identifier is part of the MICR line and is used to track the status of your payment. Additionally, you can find the cheque number:
- In the top-right corner of the cheque leaf on some bank formats
- On the cheque book stub (record slip) for your personal reference
- In your bank passbook or statement once the cheque has been processed
