How to draw a cheque

To draw a cheque in India, follow these steps to ensure it is valid and secure:

• Write the date in the DD/MM/YYYY format in the top right corner.
• Enter the recipient's name after "Pay." For a self-withdrawal, write "Self."
• Write the amount in words, ending with "Only," and in figures in the box provided, using the " /- " symbol.
• Sign the cheque in the designated space above your printed name.
• To ensure payment only to the recipient's bank account, draw two parallel lines on the top left corner and write "A/c Payee."
