We are transforming India’s payment ecosystem with our innovative solutions. Our pioneering QR code empowers India’s small shops. Hailing India’s digital infrastructure, the German Embassy in India has also highlighted how seamlessly UPI transactions are being done with the help of our Paytm QR code.
The embassy shared pictures and a small video where Germany’s Federal Minister for Digital and Transport Volker Wissing can be seen using the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) to make a payment to a vegetable seller in Bengaluru. He scanned the Paytm QR code and was easily able to make the payment within seconds. He was impressed and fascinated with the speed of the transaction and the audio confirmation of the payment made via Paytm Soundbox. Notably, Wissing was in Bengaluru to attend the G20 Digital Ministers Meeting held on August 19.
Describing India’s digital Infrastructure as one of its success stories and how Federal Minister Wissing experienced the simplicity of UPI payments, the German Embassy in India tweeted, “One of India’s success stories is digital infrastructure. UPI enables everybody to make transactions in seconds. Millions of Indians use it. Federal Minister for Digital and Transport @Wissing was able to experience the simplicity of UPI payments first-hand and is very fascinated!”
