We are excited to share that we have won three prestigious awards at the Third Annual ESG Summit and Awards, including Best ESG Performance In Financial Inclusion, Best ESG Performance In Air And Water Quality, and ESG Leader Of The Year. With these awards, our dedication to sustainability and responsible business practices has been recognised.
The Third Annual ESG Summit and Awards 2023 is organised by Transformance Industry Impact. It honours businesses that have shown an understanding of the role of technology in transforming retail operations to be more environmentally and socially responsible, such as the use of digital solutions for supply chain management and sustainability reporting.
We have been actively working towards reducing air and water pollution. We proudly represent our country on international forums working for sustainability. Since December 2017, our Founder & CEO Vijay Shekhar Sharma has been the United Nations Environment Programme’s (UNEP) Patron for Clean Air and helps drive greater environmental action and awareness to advocate for UNEP’s global #BreatheLife campaign – a major initiative on air quality seeking to influence policy and citizen action for a healthy future.
He is also on the Advisory Board of the Green Digital Finance Alliance. The Alliance was set up to address the potential for digital finance and fintech-powered business innovations to reshape the financial system in ways that better align it with the needs of sustainable development. Through our several initiatives such as reducing paper usage by encouraging digital transactions and promoting e-receipts, we have taken steps to conserve water and reduce air pollution.
With UNEP, our CSR arm Paytm Foundation has launched a national-level action-oriented forum for India, involving the regulators, national & international philanthropic organisations, international development agencies, and the corporate sector. This forum intends to identify the needs, gaps, and solutions to the problem of air quality in India and will ensure project implementation in a structured manner with a yearly action plan.
