We are thrilled to share that as a pioneer of mobile payments, QR and Soundbox, Paytm has won two prestigious awards at the 5th Annual ESG Summit & Awards 2024 on April 26 in New Delhi. We have bagged two awards for our Clean Air – BreatheLife Campaign and Paytm Pocket Soundbox under the Best Initiative to Reduce Carbon Footprint and Best Eco-friendly Product of the Year categories, respectively. Our dedication to sustainability and responsible business practices has been recognised with these awards.
The Fifth Annual ESG Summit and Awards 2023 was organised by Transformance Industry Impact. It honoured businesses that have shown an understanding of the role of technology in transforming retail operations to be more environmentally and socially responsible, such as the use of digital solutions for supply chain management and sustainability reporting.
We have been actively working towards reducing air and water pollution. We proudly represent our country on international forums working for sustainability. Since December 2017, our Founder & CEO Vijay Shekhar Sharma has been the United Nations Environment Programme’s (UNEP) Patron for Clean Air and helps drive greater environmental action and awareness to advocate for UNEP’s global #BreatheLife campaign – a major initiative on air quality seeking to influence policy and citizen action for a healthy future.
Similarly, we were the first to introduce the Soundbox device in India in 2019, and since then it has been a hit among merchants for the convenience and security they provide to their businesses. Our Pocket Soundbox device makes payment confirmations fast and easy. This is a low-cost device that provides instant audio confirmation for payments in 11 regional languages – English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam, Bengali, Gujarati, Punjabi and Odia. It empowers merchants who are always on the move with instant audio payment alerts. The software has been configured in such a way that they can request language change, even after using the device for some time.
