Is there any charge for UPI transfer?

Generally, UPI transactions are free of cost for customers. There are no charges levied on the sender or receiver for regular bank-to-bank transfers. According to NPCI guidelines, the service is provided free to promote digital transactions. However, specific rules apply to merchant transactions:

• Personal bank-to-bank (P2P) transfers are completely free.
• Merchant payments (P2M) made directly from a bank account are also free for customers.
• An interchange fee may apply to merchants for transactions above 2,000 made via Prepaid Payment Instruments (wallets), but this is not charged to the customer.
