Is Digital Rupee better than UPI?

Digital Rupee and UPI serve different, complementary roles in India's digital economy. The Digital Rupee is the Reserve Bank of India’s digital form of cash, offering high privacy and potential for offline use and cross-border transactions. UPI is a payment interface facilitated by NPCI for instant bank-to-bank fund transfers for everyday domestic payments. One is not inherently better; they are designed to coexist, making the currency future-proof while simplifying payments.
