It is not possible to create a UPI ID without a mobile number. According to NPCI guidelines, a mobile number is a mandatory requirement as it serves as the primary identifier linked to your bank account. During the registration process, the UPI application must send an automated SMS from your device to verify your identity and bind the device securely. An active SIM card registered with your bank is essential for this authentication. Without a verified mobile number, the security protocol cannot be completed, making UPI services inaccessible.
