How long does a UPI refund take?

Typically, UPI refunds are processed within 3–5 working days for reversed payments, according to information from payment platforms. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) states that failed transactions where the amount is debited should be credited back within 48 hours (T+1 day). In many cases of failed UPI transactions, the refund is processed instantly by the bank. If a refund is delayed, users can raise a complaint through their bank or UPI application.
