How is a UPI ID created?

A UPI ID is created by registering your mobile number with a UPI-enabled application. To set it up, follow these steps:

• Download a UPI app and verify your mobile number linked to your bank account via SMS.
• Select your bank from the provided list to fetch your account details.
• Set a UPI PIN using your debit card details (last six digits and expiry date).
• The app will then generate a unique Virtual Payment Address (VPA), often in the format 'name@bankname'.
