Where is cheque number written

The cheque number is a unique 6-digit identifier found at the bottom-left corner of a cheque leaf. It is the first set of six digits in the MICR line, preceding the 9-digit MICR code. This number is essential for tracking the status of your payment and is recorded in your bank statement or passbook once the cheque is processed. You can also find it:
