How to write paise in cheque

To write paise on a cheque, follow the amount in words with the word "Only" to prevent further additions. For example, if the amount is ₹500.50, write "Five Hundred Rupees and Fifty Paise Only." On the numerical box, use a slash or a dot to separate rupees and paise, such as "500.50/-" or "500/50." Key tips for writing a cheque:
  • Write the amount in words starting from the extreme left of the "Rupees" line.
  • Ensure the numerical amount matches the words exactly.
  • Use a hyphen and slash (/-) after the numerical amount to seal the figure.
