Can cheque be deposited in any bank

A cheque can be deposited at any branch of the bank where you hold an account, regardless of which bank or branch issued the cheque. In India, most banks also participate in the Cheque Truncation System (CTS), allowing for faster electronic processing. While you generally cannot deposit a cheque directly into a different bank where you do not have an account, you can:

• Use any branch of your own bank to make the deposit.
• Deposit via your bank's automated 24/7 drop boxes or kiosks.
• Use mobile banking apps for digital cheque imaging if supported by your bank.
