In an era where digital transactions have become integral to daily life, protecting individuals and businesses from cyber threats is more critical than ever. As a pioneer in India’s digital financial landscape, Paytm has been at the forefront of efforts to combat cybercrime and foster cybersecurity awareness. Recognising that creating a secure digital ecosystem requires collective action, We are dedicated to strengthening our collaboration with law enforcement agencies (LEAs) to enhance awareness and prevention of cyber crime. Our initiatives involve promoting cybersecurity education among students, teachers, and the wider community, all of which contribute to building a more resilient digital payment ecosystem.
On October 13, 2024, The Gurugram Police, Paytm, with Paytm Payment Services Limited and Give Back to Gurugram, conducted a Cyber Crime Awareness & Prevention event at Cyber Hub, Gurugram. This initiative was part of our celebration of October as National Cyber Security Awareness Month, emphasizing the importance of cybersecurity for all citizens.
The event featured a bike rally that not only promoted road safety but also served as a platform to raise awareness about online security. It highlighted the necessity for everyone to remain vigilant against growing cyber threats. Participants were educated on the risks associated with digital transactions and provided with practical tips on how to protect their personal and financial information. Through this initiative, we aim to empower the community with the knowledge and tools needed to navigate the digital world more safely.
The speeches on cybercrime protection and engaging performances by schools, all aimed at raising awareness about this critical issue. Cybercrime remains a pervasive challenge, with many individuals falling victim to scams, fraud, and identity theft. With the participation of over 200 bikers, we reached out to participants, spreading the message of safe online practices. An essential aspect of the event was promoting the 1930 I4C (MHA), national cyber crime helpline reporting number, encouraging people to report suspicious activities promptly and seek assistance when needed. By doing so, we aimed to create a safety net for individuals who encounter potential cyber threats, fostering a sense of trust and security in the digital space.
Paytm is committed to raising public awareness about cyber risks and empowering citizens with knowledge. Focused on spreading best practices for online safety, such as using strong passwords, avoiding phishing traps, and enabling two-factor authentication. These simple but effective measures can significantly reduce the risk of falling victim to cybercrime.
Paytm is dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of the 1930 helpline in the fight against cybercrime. The Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) provides assistance to citizens through the helpline number 1930 for filing online cyber complaints. By promoting this resource, we aim to provide swift assistance to individuals at risk of cyber fraud and encourage prompt reporting of suspicious activities.
Creating cybersecurity awareness is essential for empowering users to protect themselves online. Through educational initiatives, we strive to inform the public about safe online practices and the resources available to combat cyber threats. Together, we can foster a more secure digital environment for everyone.
Our mission is to cultivate a culture of cybersecurity, ensuring that individuals, businesses, and organizations remain alert and prepared in a rapidly evolving digital landscape. We believe that awareness is the first line of defense against cyber threats. By joining forces with law enforcement and community partners, we are fostering a collaborative approach to combat cybercrime and build a resilient digital ecosystem.
With the increasing reliance on digital financial services, creating a secure online environment is not just a responsibility but a necessity. Paytm remains committed to promoting cybersecurity awareness, empowering users, and driving a safer, more connected digital future. Through initiatives like cybercrime awareness, we aim to continue making a positive impact, ensuring that every digital interaction is safe, secure, and empowering for everyone involved.
