If you are an Indian national residing abroad with an international mobile number, you can still easily link your NRE/NRO bank accounts to Paytm UPI and make payments in India. The process is quick, secure, and completed entirely through the app.
Here are the simple steps to start using Paytm UPI with your international mobile number:
- Step 1: Open the Paytm App on your phone.
- Step 2: Enter your international mobile number. Tap the country flag/code dropdown to select your country and then enter your full mobile number.
- Step 3: Tap ‘Proceed’ and verify your device. The app will send a verification SMS from your international number to confirm it is really you.
- Step 4: Once verified, the app will prompt you to Add your NRE/NRO bank account for UPI payments. Search for and select your bank.
- Step 5: The app will link your bank account (if the number is registered with it). You will then need to Set your UPI PIN (if you haven’t already) using your bank’s debit/ATM card or Aadhaar details.
- Step 6: Your UPI ID is created successfully, and You’re All Set!
