Paytm signs an exclusive MoU with Goa Government to deploy QR codes, Soundbox & Card Machines for electricity, water & municipal tax payments

We have announced an exclusive memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Goa government for digitisation of all its departments. The MoU was signed in the presence of the Chief Minister of Goa Dr. Pramod Sawant and Dr V. Candavelou, Finance Secretary of Goa. 

Under the MoU signed, we will help the various departments of the Goa Government go digital. With our technology-led innovative devices, we have strengthened our merchant payments leadership by deploying 79 Lakh devices, both Soundbox and Card Machine. We will deploy our payment devices like Paytm QR code, Soundbox, and Card Machines in all departments including panchayats and municipalities. With this, users can make payments for various services including municipal tax, water, and panchayats through Paytm UPI, UPI Lite, Paytm Wallet, net banking, debit cards, and credit cards. 

We are already driving convenience for our users in Goa to pay for utility services through our Super App. We will also conduct Cyber security training for Goa Police and organise a joint campaign for spreading awareness on online safety among people.
