@Paytm UPI handle will continue to work seamlessly

byPriya KumariLast Updated: March 20, 2024

We reassure our users that the @Paytm UPI handle is fully operational, ensuring an uninterrupted and seamless payment experience.

We have received approval from National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) to participate in UPI as a Third-Party Application Provider (TPAP) under multi-bank model. Four banks — Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, State Bank of India, YES Bank — will act as PSP (Payment System Provider) banks. YES Bank will also be acting as merchant acquiring bank for our existing and new UPI merchants. The “@Paytm” handle will be redirected to YES Bank. This will enable our existing users and merchants to continue to do UPI transactions and AutoPay mandates in a seamless and uninterrupted manner.

Our users can continue to use their @Paytm UPI handle linked with a different bank account without interruption. We will soon introduce an option to change your handle.

Our UPI payments and AutoPay are now being redirected to YES Bank.

This aligns perfectly with our steadfast commitment to delivering a seamless payment experience for all our customers and merchant partners. We thank our users for their continuous support and for choosing our services.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has increased the UPI limit for tax payments from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 5 lakh. This means you can now pay larger tax amounts quickly and easily using UPI.

Effective immediately, taxpayers can transfer up to Rs 5 lakh in a single UPI transaction for paying taxes. This move aims to simplify the tax payment process and encourage digital payments. Additionally, the RBI has introduced 'delegated payments' through UPI, allowing users to authorize another person to make UPI payments from their account.

These measures are expected to make tax payments more convenient and boost digital payment adoption across India.
