Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi launched the Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan (17 September–2 October 2025) along with the 8th Rashtriya Poshan Maah (17 September–16 October 2025) from Dhar, Madhya Pradesh. As part of the initiative, cash benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) were directly transferred to more than 15 lakh beneficiaries across the country.
The Abhiyaan is a joint effort of the Ministry of Women & Child Development (MWCD) and the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW), aimed at strengthening convergence in health and nutrition services for women and children.
Union Minister for Women & Child Development, Smt. Annpurna Devi, joined the launch via webcast from Raipur, Chhattisgarh, alongside the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Shri Vishnu Deo Sai. On this occasion, a mega health camp was also organised in Raipur.
Later, Smt. Annpurna Devi visited an Anganwadi Centre in Nimora village (Raipur) with State WCD Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade. She interacted with women beneficiaries and Anganwadi workers, reviewing Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) activities and assessing the progress of the Facial Recognition System (FRS), which has shown notable improvement in the state.
Speaking at the event, she highlighted that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Modi, women’s health and empowerment have become a national priority. She expressed happiness over the transfer of benefits to more than 15 lakh women under PMMVY, reaffirming the Government’s commitment to ensure no woman is deprived of care due to lack of awareness or resources.
The Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan focuses on women-centric preventive healthcare and forms part of the larger goal of building a healthy, empowered India by 2047 (Viksit Bharat 2047). Complementing this, the Rashtriya Poshan Maah promotes nutrition awareness, early childhood care, adoption of local diets, and digital integration in service delivery.
