India’s Vision for a Modern Postal Sector
Shri Scindia outlined India’s vision for a modern, inclusive postal sector, anchored in four key principles:
- Connect: Seamless data-driven logistics.
- Include: Affordable digital financial services for every migrant and digital enterprise.
- Modernize: Integration of AI, DigiPIN, and machine learning.
- Cooperate: Strengthening South–South partnerships through a UPU-backed technical cell.
He highlighted the achievements of India Post, including the opening of over 560 million accounts, most in women’s names, and the delivery of over 900 million letters and parcels last year, showcasing the scale and spirit of inclusion brought to the global stage.
Strengthening Global Postal Cooperation
India committed USD 10 million during this UPU cycle to promote innovation, with a focus on e-commerce and digital payments. Shri Scindia emphasized India’s readiness to contribute resources, expertise, and partnership under the motto “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas.”
