Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has underlined the Government’s commitment to ensuring financial security and healthcare access for every Indian citizen. As part of the newly-introduced #NextGenGST reforms, the Government has announced major tax relief on life and health insurance products, making them cheaper and easier to access for families across the country.
The Prime Minister said this move is a key step towards achieving the long-term vision of ‘Insurance for All by 2047’, ensuring that every household in India is financially protected against medical expenses and unforeseen risks.
Responding to a post by Shri Narendra Bharindwal on X, Shri Modi shared:
“Over the years, we have strived to ensure financial security and healthcare access for every citizen.
The next-generation GST reforms, which make life and health insurance more affordable, mark another important milestone in our mission of ‘Insurance for All by 2047.’
Together, we move towards a Swasth and Samarth Bharat.
#NextGenGST”
With this reform, the Government aims to bring millions of uninsured and underinsured citizens under the financial safety net, expanding coverage for families, working professionals, and senior citizens. The measure also supports the broader goal of creating a healthy and resilient India.
Along with these reforms, digital platforms like Paytm, through their association with insurers, are also making health and life insurance simple, affordable, and accessible online. This ensures that more citizens can easily secure financial protection for themselves and their families in just a few clicks.
