🔹In a transformative step towards hassle-free highway travel, we are introducing a FASTag-based Annual Pass priced at ₹3,000, effective from 15th August 2025. Valid for one year from the date of activation or up to 200 trips—whichever comes…
What is the FASTag Annual Pass?
The new Annual Pass is designed exclusively for non-commercial private vehicles such as cars, jeeps, and vans. Once activated, the pass will be valid for one year or up to 200 trips—whichever comes first.
This pass aims to enable seamless, cost-effective travel across all National Highways in India, eliminating the need for frequent toll payments or delays at toll plazas.
A dedicated link for pass activation and renewal will soon be made available via the Rajmarg Yatra mobile app and the official portals of NHAI (National Highways Authority of India) and MoRTH (Ministry of Road Transport and Highways).
Why This Matters
The FASTag Annual Pass is a solution to a long-standing issue—toll plazas located within short distances of 60 km or less, often criticized for being inconvenient and expensive for daily or regional travelers. By introducing a single-pass solution:
- Toll disputes will be minimized
- Travel times will be reduced
- Congestion at toll plazas will decrease
- Private vehicle users can save significantly on long-distance commutes
A Boost for Highway Commuters
The Annual Pass is expected to benefit millions of private vehicle owners, especially those who frequently travel between cities or across states. It reflects the government’s continued push for digitization, ease of travel, and infrastructure efficiency.
Gadkari emphasized that this move is part of a broader vision to deliver “hassle-free and dispute-free travel on Indian highways” and aligns with the government’s strategy to streamline toll operations using FASTag technology.
What’s Next?
- Activation and renewal links will be live soon
- More details on usage limits and enforcement will follow
- The policy may set the stage for similar innovations in digital toll collection
