The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) has released its provisional payroll data for June 2025, showing a significant increase in enrolments under the Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) Scheme.

The Employees’ State Insurance Scheme (ESI Scheme) is a social insurance and health security program for workers in India, established under the Employees’ State Insurance Act, 1948. It is administered by the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) under the Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India.
According to the data, 19.37 lakh new employees were registered in June 2025. Additionally, 34,762 new establishments came under the social security ambit of the ESI Scheme, ensuring wider coverage and protection for workers.
A closer look at the data reveals that youth enrolment remains strong, with 9.58 lakh employees up to the age of 25 years registering during the month. This accounts for nearly 49.5% of the total registrations.
