Definition

UPI for NRI allows Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) to use UPI services using international mobile numbers linked to Indian NRE/NRO accounts. This expansion by NPCI enables seamless digital payments even when living abroad.

Eligibility

NRIs with NRE/NRO accounts and mobile numbers from supported countries (like UAE, UK, Singapore) can register on UPI apps, provided their bank supports this feature. The system ensures global access without needing an Indian SIM card.
